Winona State University. Winona,MN. From 8/6/2023 to 5/6/2024. For international student having F1 visa you have to got at least 12 credit limited is 18 credit. If you want to go above that you have to pay more for your credit fee.As a Computer Science major, it is crucial to adhere to these regulations while planning your academic schedule. This flexibility allows you to structure your coursework effectively to meet degree requirements and personal academic goals. I found CS116 Web Tech I to be an incredibly valuable course focused on website building. Under the guidance of Mr. Bari, I acquired practical skills in creating and designing web pages, with a strong emphasis on layout and alignment techniques. His instruction was clear and thorough, allowing me to grasp complex concepts effectively. What stood out to me most at Winona State University was the exceptional support and patience demonstrated by the professors. They were always available to address any questions or challenges that students, including myself, encountered during the course. This level of dedication and personalized attention was a stark contrast to my experience at Tam Kang University. The supportive environment created by the faculty at Winona State not only enhanced my learning experience but also encouraged me to explore and expand my skills in web development. I appreciated the opportunity to work closely with knowledgeable instructors who were genuinely invested in their students' success. Overall, my time in CS116 Web Tech I at Winona State University was instrumental in shaping my understanding of web design and development. I am grateful for the guidance and encouragement provided by the professors, which has prepared me well for future challenges in my academic and professional journey (206字)

While I didn't experience dorm life because I lived off-campus, my friends had a fantastic year living on campus! My house is conveniently located just one block from campus, approximately a quarter-mile away. Rent for our place is $1500 per month, inclusive of all utilities (electricity, water, heat, and garbage). Split between my three roommates, this amounts to $500 per person per month. Comparatively, dormitory costs typically hover around $650 per month, varying based on the specific dormitory. Minnesota typically sees substantial snowfall from October through April, but this past year, the influence of El Niño resulted in less snow than usual. Nonetheless, we did experience a storm severe enough to warrant a day off. (113字)

On my initial day in Winona, the tipping culture took me by surprise, but beyond that, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Living in Winona truly embodies the essence of being part of America. The atmosphere here is peaceful, relaxed, and undeniably safe, which contributes to a sense of belonging and ease. What stands out the most is the kindness of Minnesotans. Regardless of your background or ethnicity, the community treats you with genuine warmth and inclusivity, as if you were part of their own family. This welcoming environment has made my transition smooth and enjoyable. From exploring local shops and dining spots to experiencing everyday life, Winona offers a glimpse into authentic American culture. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the community, forge meaningful connections, and appreciate the beauty of Midwest hospitality. As I continue to settle in, I look forward to further embracing the unique charm and friendly spirit that Winona and its residents have to offer.(162字)

If you're still deliberating on which university to choose, I wholeheartedly recommend Winona State University. My endorsement goes beyond my personal experience there. Having traveled extensively across the United States, I've found the Midwest, where Winona is nestled, to exemplify exceptional hospitality and kindness. At Winona State, classes are intimate, typically accommodating just 10 to 20 students. This small class size creates a nurturing learning environment where professors can provide individualized attention. Unlike the impersonal lecture halls often depicted in media, professors at Winona State actively encourage questions and patiently support students, regardless of their proficiency in English. This level of dedication and support sets Winona State apart from my experience at Tam Kang University. Additionally, Winona State boasts a robust tutoring system housed within its library, catering to the needs of every department and major. This ensures that students have access to the academic support necessary to excel in their studies. A distinctive feature of Winona State is its offering of a skiing class, highlighting Minnesota's rich snow sports culture. While the university doesn't arrange transportation to nearby resorts, students can easily find companions to share in these winter activities, providing a unique opportunity to explore the local landscape. In summary, Winona State University fosters a warm and inclusive community, delivers personalized education, and presents students with exceptional opportunities such as skiing classes. These factors collectively make Winona State an ideal destination for your academic journey. (235字)

If you're considering Winona State University and have questions about transportation, local amenities, or obtaining a local driver's license, feel free to ask me. Taiwanese international licenses are valid for only 90 days in Minnesota, as I learned from personal experience after being pulled over three times by officers. The nearest large shopping center like 全聯 is Walmart, a 40-minute walk from campus. Nearby, you'll also find Target, Menards (similar to BenQ), and dining options like two McDonald's, Arby's, and Novery (a pho restaurant). For communication services, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile are available around the Walmart area. Across town at Winona Mall, located on the other side of Winona, you'll find Hyvee, Dollar Tree, Goodwill, and ALDI for additional shopping needs. Winona is about a 2.5-hour drive from Minneapolis and St. Paul. On your first day here, you can take a train to Winona, although my friends and I opted for Uber, which cost us $250.
