There is a language course about reading articles. The teacher’s teaching method is quite interesting. Because none of the students in the class are very good at English, the teacher uses some simple vocabulary to teach us, and the content of the class is also current at that time. We can learn about current affairs in English and practice by the way. For example, during Halloween, the teacher prepared some articles about Halloween, related to history and some special features, and also during Thanksgiving, so that we can understand the local people’s festivals. What will I do when I am in school? The teacher also recommended a website for us to read articles. On that website, you can choose the difficulty level of the articles but the content is the same. I think it will have a great impact on improving my English. The teacher will also play some videos. For example, Mr. Doudou asked us to discuss the contents of the video. He not only watched the video, but also asked us to learn and practice listening. The teacher also arranged some small activities for us to interact with the classmates, such as Asking some daily questions or small talk was very helpful for me in my later life in the United States.(216字)

The school's accommodation is very comfortable and spacious, because I live in a room with private space and a small living room. Overall, it is great. However, because our school is relatively rural, there are not many shops around, especially Asian supermarkets. It has to be far away, but there are still places like Walmart. The school also has a restaurant, which is a buffet. Sometimes there are some activities, such as steak day or waffle day... But after eating for a long time, you will still get tired of it, and Sometimes the food is not particularly delicious, but there are other options. You can redeem it with a meal plan. The weather there is drier than in Taiwan, because it was a bit cold when I went there in September, and it starts to rain in November. It snows until around February. I really like the weather there. It has four distinct seasons and is not humid. It is very suitable for retirement there. As for transportation, many places are not pedestrian-friendly, so it is more convenient to have a car, but I always get rides from friends, or there are free buses to take, or I can just walk~(202字)

(四)自我成長

There are several cultural shocks I encountered: 1. When I first get off the plane and go shopping, they don’t automatically add tax, so I don’t know how much the total is. 2. You must tip in restaurants. 3. You will always tip during class. Answer questions or have reports all the time. 4. Americans are used to small talk. 5. Say hello to strangers. 6. They celebrate the festival very seriously. Unlike Taiwan, which only thinks about a holiday, it is inevitable that people will be confused when they first go there. Discrimination, but I think those people are uneducated people. Ignore them and they don’t dare to do anything to you. Because my English is not very good, I don’t dare to speak English in class, but luckily no matter what I encounter The teachers would patiently help us with any problem, but I got used to these shocks over time. In order to practice my English, I would force myself to talk to foreigners, so I gradually got used to it.(172字)

(五)大三出國建議

If you are going to Indiana, if you encounter any problems, you can go to the international office to find EMMA. He will answer any questions you have. He is God. Sharing rooms is not recommended for accommodation. You never know what your roommate will look like. And I think it would be awkward to live in a shared room with foreigners, and then for meals, at first we would go to north dining, which is the student restaurant, but later we would exchange meals for other foods, or cook them ourselves, because north is really It tastes terrible. We also have a Taiwanese student union that can organize some activities (free food). There is also a Taiwanese professor who serves as a consultant to the student union. If you have any questions, you can ask her. Finally, don’t stay in school during the holidays, and you have one month of flexible time after the finals. Go out and have fun.
