Basic Information I had the opportunity to study at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, located in the charming town of Indiana, Pennsylvania, from August 21 to May 11. My academic journey included a diverse range of courses such as Finance, Economics, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and a language course to improve my English proficiency. The university, known for its strong academic programs and supportive faculty, provided an enriching learning environment that facilitated both personal and academic growth. This period was marked by engaging lectures, practical projects, and a vibrant campus life that contributed significantly to my overall development.(94字)

Course Learning During my study at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, my favorite course was Cloud Computing. This class was taught by Dr. Kustim Wibowo, a seasoned expert with extensive industry experience. The course content was both cutting-edge and practical. In his class, we covered the fundamentals of various cloud services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure. Dr. Kustim Wibowo used real-world examples to explain various concepts and encouraged hands-on practice, which allowed me to truly grasp the course material. In addition to the theoretical learning in class, Dr. Kustim Wibowo organized numerous practical projects, such as setting up and managing our own cloud servers and designing highly available cloud infrastructures. These projects not only enhanced my technical skills but also honed my problem-solving abilities and teamwork spirit. Dr. Kustim Wibowo was always willing to answer students' questions patiently and provided valuable advice. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in the field of cloud computing. It not only deepened my understanding of cloud technologies but also provided me with practical experience, laying a solid foundation for my future career.(186字)

Living Environment The campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania is spacious and beautifully landscaped, creating a pleasant learning environment. The architectural style on campus blends classical and modern elements, fostering a strong academic atmosphere. The dormitories are well-equipped, clean, and tidy, though the soundproofing is not very good, and occasionally you can hear noise from neighboring rooms. However, this issue can be quickly adapted to, and earplugs can be a helpful solution. Nearby, there are conveniences like McDonald's, supermarkets, and shopping streets, making daily life very convenient. The supermarket is particularly well-stocked with everything needed for daily living. The shopping streets offer a variety of restaurants and cafes, providing a taste of the local lifestyle. The local climate is dry, with snow in the winter, but the indoor heating is excellent, ensuring comfort. Summers are warm and pleasant, perfect for outdoor activities.(142字)

(四)自我成長

Personal Growth During my study abroad, I encountered several challenges in both life and academics but managed to overcome them. Initially, the language and cultural differences posed significant communication barriers. At such times, I often sought help and advice from friends or mentors. Their support and Encouragement greatly helped improve my English communication skills and better adapt to the local living and learning environment. In terms of academic learning, some courses, especially Finance and Economics, which involve a lot of specialized terminology, were quite challenging. To overcome these difficulties, I spent extra time studying after class and actively participated in academic consultations. The university offered many learning resources and tutors who were very helpful. With continuous effort and learning, my academic performance improved significantly, and I became more confident in facing various challenges. Cultural shock was another issue to overcome. Initially, I felt unfamiliar with local customs and sometimes felt at a loss. However, over time, I gradually adapted to the local lifestyle and learned to appreciate and respect different cultures. This experience made me more open and inclusive and enhanced my cross-cultural communication skills.(185字)

(五)大三出國建議

Suggestions for Study Abroad For future students planning to study abroad, I have a few suggestions. First, prepare thoroughly in terms of language skills, academic knowledge, and mental readiness. Language proficiency is the foundation of communication, so I recommend attending English training courses to improve your listening , speaking, reading, and writing skills. Academically, gaining some background knowledge of your chosen courses in advance will make learning more manageable. Secondly, actively participate in various university activities. These activities will not only enrich your study abroad experience but also allow you to make friends from around the world, broadening your international perspective. Participating in activities is also an excellent opportunity to practice English and learn about the local culture. Moreover, do not hesitate to seek help when facing difficulties. Whether it's a life problem or an academic challenge, the university has resources and staff ready to assist you. Communicate with friends, roommates, professors, or advisors, as their advice and support can be very beneficial. Finally, maintain a positive and optimistic attitude. Studying abroad is filled with challenges but is also a valuable opportunity for growth. Face difficulties courageously and strive to overcome obstacles; these experiences will make you stronger and more confident.(200字)

Other Experiences One particularly memorable experience during my study abroad was participating in volunteer activities organized by the university. I joined a local community service team and took part in various volunteer activities, including environmental protection and community education. These activities not only gave me a deeper understanding of the local culture and society but also brought me joy and a sense of accomplishment from giving back to the community. The volunteer experience taught me about responsibility and dedication and helped me make many like-minded friends. This experience will be a treasured part of my life.(96字)
