course that stands out in my experience at ICMS is Bar and Mixology, taught by the incredibly talented instructor, Steven. This course dives into the art and science of drink-making, focusing on essential skills in mixology, bar management, and customer engagement within a bar setting. Steven is not only highly knowledgeable but also brings an infectious enthusiasm to each session, making learning both fun and engaging. His background in the mixology industry shines through in every class, as he shares real-life stories, tips, and tricks that go beyond the basics of drink preparation. Steven’s teaching approach is hands-on, encouraging us to practice mixing techniques, flavor balancing, and presentation. From creating classic cocktails like mojitos and martinis to experimenting with our own concoctions, we get to explore the creative side of mixology. Steven places a strong emphasis on understanding ingredients, from the different types of spirits to complementary garnishes, helping us develop a deep appreciation for the craft. He also teaches us how to engage with customers at the bar, focusing on communication skills, product knowledge, and the art of creating a memorable experience for guests. (186字)

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is located in Manly, a coastal suburb known for its iconic beaches and vibrant community. The campus itself is stunning, set within a historic castle-like building overlooking the ocean, offering students both inspiring views and a peaceful environment to study. The main campus building is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens, creating a calm atmosphere that contrasts with the energetic vibe of Sydney’s city center. This mix of history and natural beauty makes ICMS a unique place to learn, as it combines a prestigious academic environment with a laid-back coastal lifestyle. For housing, ICMS offers on-campus accommodation options, which are convenient for students who prefer to live close to their classes and other facilities. These dormitories foster a close-knit student community and make it easy to socialize and participate in campus activities. Alternatively, some students, including myself and a few friends from Tamkang University, choose to live off-campus in shared apartments around Manly. This allows us more independence while still being close to ICMS, the beach, and local amenities. Manly is a very walkable area, with easy access to grocery stores, cafes, shops, and public transportation, including ferries and buses connecting to Sydney’s city center. The local climate in Sydney is relatively mild and temperate. Summers are warm, perfect for enjoying Manly Beach and other outdoor activities, while winters are cooler but generally not too harsh. This makes it easy to adapt to the weather, as it’s comfortable year-round. Sydney's climate encourages an active outdoor lifestyle, and Manly’s beaches, coastal trails, and parks offer many opportunities for exercise and relaxation. In terms of everyday needs, Manly has everything students could require. There are plenty of dining options nearby, ranging from affordable cafes to international restaurants, making it easy to find a variety of cuisines. Grocery shopping is convenient, with multiple supermarkets nearby. Public transportation is efficient, and Manly’s ferry system offers a scenic commute to the central business district. This allows students to explore both the local area and greater Sydney without much hassle. Overall, ICMS and Manly provide a balanced, supportive environment that makes studying abroad in Sydney enjoyable and comfortable.(363字)

Studying abroad at ICMS in Sydney has been an enriching experience, but it also came with its share of challenges. One of the first obstacles I encountered was adjusting to a rigorous academic schedule while adapting to a new environment. ICMS’s curriculum emphasizes hands-on projects and teamwork, which required me to manage my time effectively and balance both independent study and group assignments. Initially, coordinating group work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds was challenging, as each of us had different communication styles and work habits. However, through these interactions, I learned to be more adaptable and open-minded, adjusting my approach to better collaborate with others and respect different perspectives. Another challenge was adapting to the cultural differences and social norms of Australian life. Australians tend to be more direct and open in their communication, which was initially surprising but eventually helped me become more confident in expressing myself. Experiencing this cultural shift firsthand taught me the importance of being flexible and culturally aware. I realized that asking questions and being open to learning were the best ways to overcome misunderstandings and grow from the experience. Living independently in Sydney has also tested my budgeting and self-management skills. With the higher cost of living, especially around Manly, I learned to plan my expenses and prioritize essentials. Through these experiences, I gained confidence in handling new situations and developed stronger problem-solving skills. Overall, overcoming these challenges has helped me grow, both personally and academically, making my study abroad experience truly rewarding.(251字)

Studying abroad in your third year is an incredible opportunity, but it also comes with challenges. To make the most of this experience, it’s essential to prepare in advance by familiarizing yourself with your school’s curriculum, living costs, and the local culture. If your courses are in English, improving your language skills beforehand will help you feel more confident. It’s also important to stay open-minded and embrace the cultural differences you’ll encounter, as this will help you adapt and enrich your overall experience. Being proactive in engaging with class discussions and extracurricular activities will allow you to make strong connections and get the most out of your academic journey. Effective self-management is key—learning to balance your studies, budget your expenses, and take care of your well-being will help you avoid burnout. Lastly, don’t shy away from challenges; when difficulties arise, seek support and view them as opportunities for personal growth. By embracing each experience, you’ll find your study abroad adventure to be both rewarding and unforgettable.(173字)

Studying abroad in my third year provided many experiences worth recording beyond academics. Firstly, living and studying with classmates from diverse cultural backgrounds not only improved my language skills but also deepened my understanding of different customs and traditions. This cross-cultural exchange broadened my perspective and taught me how to build good relationships with people from various cultures, while maintaining an open mind in a multicultural environment. In addition, living independently greatly impacted my personal growth. I had to handle all aspects of daily life, from grocery shopping and cooking to managing my time and budget. This made me more confident and improved my problem-solving skills. I learned how to deal with unexpected situations and handled both everyday challenges and academic pressures calmly. Beyond academics and daily life, studying abroad also provided valuable travel experiences. During breaks, I had the chance to explore different cities and attractions in Australia, experiencing the local natural beauty and cultural landmarks. These travels not only taught me about the history and culture of various places but also helped me better understand myself and sparked my passion for exploring new things.(186字)
