My Favorite Course: Food and Beverage Business Among all the courses I took during my time in Dubai, Food and Beverage Business was my favorite. This course provided a comprehensive understanding of managing food and beverage operations, but what made it stand out was its hands-on approach and practical learning opportunities. One of the highlights of this course was the frequent time spent in the kitchen. It allowed me to develop a variety of culinary skills, from basic food preparation techniques to more advanced cooking methods. These experiences not only enhanced my appreciation for the art of cooking but also gave me the confidence to manage food preparation in a professional setting. Additionally, the course emphasized tableside service, which taught me how to provide exceptional customer experiences through effective communication and presentation skills. Learning how to interact with guests and deliver high-quality service was both enjoyable and highly educational. Beyond practical skills, the course also introduced me to the financial aspects of the food and beverage industry. Understanding how to calculate costs, manage budgets, and maintain profitability was invaluable knowledge that I believe will benefit me in any business environment. Overall, the combination of culinary practice, service training, and business management made this course not only educational but also deeply rewarding. It gave me a well-rounded perspective on the industry and inspired my passion for hospitality and operations.(228字)

The campus at The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management offers an excellent learning and living environment. It is equipped with great facilities, including a swimming pool, a well-maintained gym, and a cozy café where students can relax or study. The school’s location is another highlight, as it is situated right next to the iconic Burj Al Arab, one of Dubai’s most famous landmarks. Additionally, the Mall of the Emirates, the second-largest mall in Dubai, is just a short distance away, providing easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The local climate is characterized by its heat and sunshine. Most days are extremely hot with clear skies, but evenings can be pleasantly cooler. Adjusting to the weather requires staying hydrated and planning outdoor activities carefully to avoid the peak heat. Food options in Dubai are incredibly diverse. While local Middle Eastern cuisine is widely available, there are also numerous restaurants and supermarkets that cater to international tastes, including Asian food. Asian grocery stores make it easy to find ingredients from home, offering comfort and familiarity in a foreign country. This diversity in dining and shopping ensures that everyone can enjoy a wide variety of cuisines while experiencing Dubai’s rich culinary culture. The combination of an excellent campus, vibrant surroundings, and diverse food options makes studying at EAHM a memorable and enriching experience. (225字)

Living and studying in Dubai brought both exciting opportunities and challenges, especially in adapting to a new culture and managing day-to-day life independently. One of the biggest cultural shocks was adjusting to the unique customs and traditions of the region. To overcome this, I maintained an open attitude and took the time to learn about and embrace the local culture. Engaging with people from different backgrounds and participating in cultural events not only helped me adapt but also deepened my appreciation for diversity. On a practical level, learning to manage my own life independently was a crucial adjustment. Tasks like budgeting, cooking, and maintaining a healthy routine required effort and discipline. The most significant challenges, however, came during the process of job hunting and preparing for interviews. It was a daunting task to navigate a competitive work environment in a foreign country. To overcome this, I ensured that I was thoroughly prepared, from perfecting my resume to practicing for interviews. Staying organized and confident helped me succeed in securing valuable work opportunities. In the end, these experiences taught me resilience and adaptability. By staying prepared and embracing challenges with an open mind, I was able to turn difficulties into learning opportunities and thrive in a new environment.(207字)

To future students planning to study abroad in their junior year, my biggest advice is to maintain a positive and open-minded attitude. Embrace the opportunity to learn about and experience different cultures. Engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and understanding their traditions will enrich your personal growth and broaden your global perspective. When it comes to internships or job opportunities, thorough preparation is key. Before attending interviews with different hotels or companies, research each organization carefully and identify the department that aligns with your interests and career goals. Knowing what you want will make you more confident and focused during the selection process. Additionally, it’s important to stay calm and composed, even in stressful situations. Advocate for your rights and make sure to communicate your needs effectively, especially in the workplace. Whether it’s about working conditions or assignments, don’t hesitate to speak up and actively pursue what you deserve. Lastly, stay proactive and enthusiastic throughout the entire experience. Your time abroad is not only an academic journey but also a valuable opportunity to grow professionally and personally. Make the most of it by embracing challenges, taking initiative, and learning from every experience.(195字)
