From my point of view, "The Server Etiquette" is the most interesting one also is my favorite class. The lecturer is Neils Sloos, he is a kind and patient person. He has extensive wine expertise. When we met any questions about wine and coffee, he can give us a perfect answer to let us understand. In this course, I got a lot of knowledges and practical experiences about serving in the restaurant. There are three parts topics: First of all, I learned how to set up the table, fold the napkin and serving like how a restaurant do. In class, the lecturer will let us role play so that we can become more familiar with the process of serving customers. This will be of great help to me in my future internships. Second part, we learned how to make cocktails. I am a wine-lover, being able to taste various types of cocktails made by myself gives me a sense of accomplishment, and it also makes me better understand the differences between various types of cocktails. The tools and methods used in each type of wine are different. The course allowed me to improve myself not only just drinking, but also observe the behind every glass of wine. Last, we learned how to make coffee. At the beginning, I didn’t know much about coffee and didn’t do much research. The teacher will tell us how to make it very carefully. From frothing milk to adding coffee, there are special needs. The order in which they are added before and after will also give it a different product name and flavor. Although I didn't do well, it became a great experience for me. The interesting thing about this class is that I can learn a lot of rich hotel knowledge and practical experience. Practicing and making with my own hands can make me more familiar with each step and also enhance my sense of accomplishment.(325字)

Adelaide, South Australia, is known for its vibrant arts scene, festivals, and beautiful parklands. The climate in the winter is mild and wet while winter temperatures range from 7°C to 15°C. Adelaide has complete and convenient transportation facilities. It is easy for me to travel around the city. There has a lot of scenes to visit. For shopping, I like to go to Rundle Mall and Central Market. For explore the nature thing, Adelaide Zoo, Adelaide Botanic Garden and Glenelg Beach will be the good choices. To know the local culture, I have been to Art Gallery and Wine Centre. Nightlife entertainment is also very rich. The International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) in Adelaide, Australia, offers specialized education in hospitality and hotel management. The school adopts a sandwich teaching method: in one academic year, one semester of on-campus study is arranged, coupled with one semester of industry internship. The campus is easily accessible and well-connected by public transportation also is near to my accommodation, around 5-10 mins by foot. The facilities in the school are complete and new and all the lecturers are kind. When I met any question, they will give me help and answers. The knowledge provided by the school is not only in textbooks, but also provides practical experience. You can get a different experience in every class, whether it is a restaurant or a hotel. I lived in Scape Adelaide Central, which is in the heart of Adelaide, South Australia. The location making it easier to access nearby shops, and public transportation. The building offers a range of amenities including private studios, communal areas, study spaces, and recreational facilities. The only shortcoming is near to night clubs and bars, that may be noisy at night on weekends.(292字)

As for my difficulties in Australia, there are some points I can say. 1. Language barrier: this is my first time live with people who speak English. Speaking English for me is quite nervous and unconfident. To adapt the new environment and meet a new friend. I forced myself to keep talking and watching some foreign movies to improve. 2. Food & culture: in Australia, most of people are drinking tap water and the spring water need to be charged. Because I cannot adapt the smell of tap water. It was a hassle for me, I had to spend extra money to buy water, and I only had drinks in the restaurant. Also, the food in Australia is expensive and not my liking. Most of time, I cooked by myself. That can be cheaper also can improve my cooking skills. 3. Academic: compared to university in Taiwan, the assessment in Australia is more formal and complicated. There are special regulations on format and narrative especially the references. This was the first time I had to find a lot of literature for my assignments. Fortunately, the teachers at the school are very friendly and will answer any academic questions I have. They don't give direct answers but guide us step by step on what to do so we can think for ourselves. This can help me improve my personal abilities and I can do better in the next assignment. 4. Placement: being a housekeeper in my first job also my first experience did the interview. It was very frustrating, difficult and torturous for me when I first started working. I often made mistakes and couldn't finish on time. This made me very unconfident and sad. But as the saying goes, "Practice makes perfect", through continuous practice, experience and the encouragement and help of other colleagues. I can finish faster and faster and get compliments. This is a very special experience. I believe that encountering difficulties is not a bad thing. It can make me more independent and improve my ability to deal with things. In every problem, I can gain experience from it. I think that's the biggest results.(353字)
