(二)課程學習

The Food and beverage business is one of my favorite courses. Although it is the longest hour of all the schedule but the practical session for cooking and learning is vary interesting. During the practical session, the chef would teach us step by step. Start from the begging of what rule should be follow, what should do and what should be avoid. Also, how the food hygiene being perform in the UAE with the check list of need to be done before and after cooking. Inside the lesion, the dish we have cook were vegetable, stake and many type of fish. In the last few courses, chef displace all the material for us to cook with our own tastes combine with the knowledge we learn. For me the result is terrible but vary interesting some of the student did a great job and all of us can give the dish we make a taste at the end is really and unforgettable experience to me. We also having the chance to make our own non-alcohol beverage, like the from the cocktail to different type of coffee, during the make process teacher will first giving and example by herself and then when it come to our turn, she will stand by us carefully give us guide. After finish our beverage we also can drink it for sure. And talk about the non-practical lesion, nothing special to be honest. But I still can learn a lot from it. For example: how to make the biggest profit to the restaurant, and make the Excel form to calculate the cost and make. Is vary useful skill to have from my own perspective if you want me to say. The down side of this course is starting at morning 8:00am and there is not allow of being late even a single second. :> (306字)

(三)生活環境

Talk about the environment, what can I say. We literally live in a villa, we have the sunbed, pool which is always warm (point deduct because is hot outside), tennis court, fitness club, and my favorite pool room me and my foreigner friend would hang out with each other at the pool room when off the class. If someone want to study or use computer, they also have the study room and the library to borrow the books, the place is very nice and quiet but I don’t think there is actually someone will borrow the book despite from course needed. Also, very Monday to Friday offering the breakfast and lunch with a good quality although sometime is did not fit our Taiwanese’s tastes but is still very good. Up there is my personal perspective but you will like it. If talk about the detail of the room we live, a single room size is big enough and with a big wardrobe and full body mirror which is very important because every student need to wear suit to the class. Other than that, a good maintain with TV witch I never use it, and also have oven, induction cooker and refrigerator to cook and keep. No need to worry about the cutlery and cooking equipment. Is all inside the cabinet for you to use it, and if you have any question or demand of lake of cooking pots there will offer but is not new. You can call room service twice for free, is vary convivence and don’t forget to use it. (265字)

(四)自我成長

The hard time I have been through during Dubai. This part is very interesting, because I can list a full file of it just to prove how hard it is. Let’s start with the daily life. The food culture is divers without pork because is Muslim country, but is expansive (300~400NT a meal is call as a okay price) if you want to eat something nice and you know I am poor so I complain. The transportation is convenience not by walking, and the taxi is not cheap. If you wanna save some money I recommend to buy it from market and cook it by yourself. And to the transportation I would recommend to get a card at Tran station (is just like the yoyo card in Taiwan) by using that card, it can help you save a lot of money. The virous is God Damn brutal. Trust me bring some medicine from Taiwan you will thank me for sure after. The air is dusty most of the time, no rain, at noon is perfect cooking temperature if you want to cook on the ground in July, ac is very strong and cold better bring some warm clothes, and there is more of how disgusting of people charge your money in every detail so if you can better do it on your own. Over all is a pretty nice experience of how good Taiwan is compared to Dubai. But people is nice really! Is not a bad choice for me to wider my view by meeting people from all over the world and make some friend which we still would talk online. (273字)

(五)大三出國建議

The recommend to my junior fellow. I holp this can help you a bit if you have chance to come. First time you come to Dubai at the airport don’t change the money so fast, wait until the super market the exchange rate is much there. Whenever you need to take taxi, always take the one with many colors on it. That kind of taxi is the usual and cheaper one, also you can pay with card without getting scan(Some of the own taxi don’t have color and will rip your pocket). Talk about the medical, insurance is better to get one for make sure. Because is really really expansive to see a doctor. And the most importantly, make as much local friend and especially during internship as you can. They help me a lot whenever I need a hand, they can give a big support. Everything starts from big to small your welcome to ask and they will help. If you want to go some where to play you can try to bid the price it takes (not in super market) it take some skill but is really fun and save a lot. Or you can ask the friend there to help you find the cheaper and nice price there. Always be attention and well attitude you will learn fare more than you can imaging.
