(一)基本資料

APU University is one of the most internationalized universities in Japan, with students from over 80 countries, offering a bilingual environment with courses in both English and Japanese. The university's unique Cultural Week is an excellent opportunity for students from different countries to learn about each other's cultures. APU has three colleges, and I am choose the "College of Sustainability and Tourism." This college is dedicated to research on issues related to the environment, tourism, culture, international relations, and regional development. As a global citizen, I hope that what I learn will not only enhance my professional skills but also contribute to the world. During my time in Japan, I visited many cities. I traveled to the bustling and lively Tokyo and Osaka, as well as the historically rich cities of Okayama and Hiroshima. The modern atmosphere in Tokyo and Osaka made me feel Japan's vibrancy and diversity, and I saw the latest trends in Japan. These cities are not only centers of commerce and entertainment but also crossroads of cultural exchange. Every street corner, every building is full of attraction. However, my most profound experience was in Hiroshima. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum deeply touched my soul. Standing in front of the preserved atomic bomb dome, I could almost feel the weight of history, contemplating the cruelty of war and the preciousness of peace. This journey was not only a deeper understanding of Japanese culture but also a spiritual baptism, reminding me that in this turbulent world, we should cherish the present and promote the power of peace. Looking back, I realized that I have quietly achieved all the wishes I had before my departure. Japan and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University did not disappoint me, whether it was the international perspective I gained at the university or the knowledge I acquired here. More importantly, this experience taught me how to grow independently in a foreign country and opened a window for dialogue with the world. Every small challenge—whether it was overcoming language barriers, experiencing cultural clashes, or interacting with friends from different backgrounds—was a valuable part of my growth. This exchange study not only fulfilled my long-held dream but also enriched my life experience, making me realize that in the future, I will continue to move forward courageously, carrying these experiences with me.(385字)

One of my favorite courses during my studies was Culture and History of Tourism. This course provided a comprehensive understanding of how tourism has evolved over time and how it influences and is influenced by culture. The section on the History of Tourism was particularly fascinating, as it explored the origins and development of travel across different countries and regions. The accompanying workshop was an engaging way to apply this knowledge to real-world case studies, offering insights into the diverse traditions and practices that shape tourism around the world. I also enjoyed the discussions on Tourism Culture and Cultural Tourism, which examined how tourism can preserve and promote cultural heritage while fostering cross-cultural understanding. The topics of Tourists' Perceptions and Behaviors and Mass Tourism were equally intriguing, as they delved into how tourists’ experiences and actions impact destinations, often leading to both positive and negative consequences. What made this course exceptional was its focus on Sustainable Tourism and the cultural impacts of travel. The professor emphasized the importance of balancing economic benefits with the preservation of cultural and environmental resources, which resonated deeply with me. This course not only broadened my perspective on tourism but also inspired me to think critically about the future of this industry. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in understanding the profound relationship between culture, history, and tourism.(224字)

As an exchange student, one of the most challenging experiences I faced was the difficulty of fully integrating with others. Being in a foreign country with a different language and culture made it hard to connect with local students initially. The language barrier was especially tough, as I struggled to express myself fluently, which made social interactions more challenging. However, over time, I made an effort to engage in conversations, practice my Japanese, and participate in school activities. Gradually, I became more confident in my ability to communicate and was able to build meaningful relationships. One of the more difficult experiences I faced in daily life was when I got sick. I had to visit a doctor, and my Japanese was limited, making it hard to explain my symptoms. I used basic Japanese phrases and relied on gestures to communicate with the doctor and staff. It was a stressful situation, but it also taught me the importance of overcoming language barriers and using the resources available, such as translation apps, to help navigate such challenges. Cultural shock was another aspect I had to adjust to. I encountered certain rigid customs and behaviors, such as the strict punctuality and formality in social interactions. At first, I found these practices a bit overwhelming, as they were different from what I was used to. However, I learned to appreciate these aspects of Japanese culture as they reflect respect and consideration for others. Over time, I became more adaptable and started to understand the cultural nuances, making my experience much more enriching.(258字)
