2023大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

RMIT located in Melbourne, Australia. The campus is centrally located in Melbourne's vibrant cultural and business district, providing students with access to numerous professional and cultural opportunities. (27字)

(二)課程學習

There is a class called undertake project work which we need to solve a company’s problem by coming up for three solutions please let. Five members in a group include a Tamkang student, a Malaysian, a Australian , a New Zealand and me. It is quite fresh group combined by lots of nations. We need to analyze the company first. By searching the information of the organization and think why the struggle in the bad operation. Finally provide them the solutions and make a presentation. We spent whole semester to do the project so the time is adequate. In the class, professors also teach us how to do lots of chart like GANTT chart, RAM, WBS, budget plan, meeting roaster and project progress report. We didn’t learn these chart before, after professors’ explain, they are easy to understand. We know that they are useful in the future. Overall, the professor is nice and our team members are hardworking so that we successfully complete the project and we also built a well friendship. That’s a nice memory. There are two classes I want to recommend. First, communicate with customer. In the course, professor gave us lots of condition happened in the workplace. We need to answer their problem in a proper way and learn the skills to negotiate. We have role play to demonstrate the conditions. It was quite real. And write the progress and your reply as the assessment. So that we didn’t need to spend extra time doing assignments. That was a fun class. The other class is called design and produce complex document. We learned lots of functions of WORD document which we didn’t know before like make a letter template to produce lots of letter in short time and the tips to build a heading. Overall, I think that it is the most useful class.(312字)

(三)生活環境

RMIT's main campus is in Melbourne's CBD. The campus is a mix of modern, innovative buildings and historic structures. It isn’t have specific area of campus, the buildings are scattered around the city. Most of students in Melbourne live in student accommodation. UniLodge Melbourne Central and Scape are two major student accommodation providers close to RMIT's city campus. Private room’s price is around 500 AUD per week while shared rooms being more affordable. Both of them provide various of activities every month. Most of activities are free, it is a good chance to make friendship. Melbourne CBD is extremely convenient with the restaurant, shopping center, market. Also there are some tourist attractions there like, Federation Square, Melbourne's Laneways, Royal Botanic Gardens, Queen Victoria Market. Melbourne’s weather is well known for its unpredictable weather, with "four seasons in a day" being a common saying among locals. It can be very hot in summer and very cold in winter. Melbourne has an extensive public transport network by trains and Trams. It is quite convenient. Also, in the city, there is a free tram zone which means you can take tram for free. But if you go out of the free tram zone, you must touch on the myki card. Otherwise, the penalty is quite huge. Melbourne is known for its diverse food scene, ranging from fine dining to street food. The multicultural ethnic Cuisine you can enjoy cuisines around the world, including Italian, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Lebanese, and more. All the cuisine are authentic. (254字)

(四)自我成長

At the beginning, it is a little hard to understand what local people talking about because they speak too fast and with accent. You can just catch the key points of the sentence initially. After few weeks, you may start to familiar with the sentence. Professor in the class usually talk slowly than usual to make sure students understand. They also use the easy word to explain the material. I think that it is not difficult to know the content of the class. As long as you willing to ask the questions, professors all be very patient and kind to reply. They know that international students need more time to learn. I consider that there is not much culture shock in Melbourne because it is very international and included lots of Asian element. For example, there are full of Chinese, Japanese and Korean restaurant. You don’t need to worry about local food doesn’t meet your appetite. Even there are some Taiwanese restaurants. But all of the restaurants are expensive. It is better to cook yourself. There is a big difference between Taiwan and Melbourne is that winter is quite long and cold. Also the temperature difference can be huge throughout the day. And there may be hail in summer. Melbourne is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. You’ll find people from all walks of life. Just need to be open to learning about different cultures, and try to approach others with curiosity and respect. (251字)

(五)大三出國建議

I consider RMIT is a nice location to study abroad. For the environment aspect, Melbourne is quite convenient for everything. Transportation reaches lots of places, you don’t have to worry about the food doesn’t fit your appetite because there are plenty of choices. People are nice. There are full of event that you can enjoy like Australia Football League, Royal Melbourne Show, winter night market and musicals. Moreover, you must go to famous tourist attractions like Phillip island to see the wild penguin, Puffing Railway. Summer vacation and winter vacation extremely long. You have many time to travel. For the class part, I think RMIT’s classes are not difficult. As long as you pay attention to the class, professors explain the material and assessment very clearly. If you have any questions, don’t be hesitate to ask them, they answer your problem kindly. But you should spent some time on doing the assessment. The content of the class are quite useful like word, excel, communication, social media. You can have many course exemption and credits transferring. For the dormitory part, there are lots of choices available. The common and easy option is student dormitory. The house is not big but full equipped with the water, electricity and internet fee. They also provide lots of entertainment event. You can make friends. The most important are that there is safe and the reception open twenty four hours. The disadvantage is that’s expensive. Or the multiple rooms are a way to save the money. Overall, RMIT is a nice option.(261字)
