Environmental Impact Assessment was, without a doubt, one of the most rewarding and memorable courses I took during my studies. The subject matter itself, which delves into evaluating the potential environmental impacts of human activities and projects, was deeply intriguing. However, what truly made this course stand out was the exceptional guidance of Professor Taylor. His kindness, depth of knowledge, and inspiring approach to teaching made the experience both enjoyable and incredibly enriching. The course was primarily lecture-based, but Professor Taylor had a remarkable ability to turn what could have been dry, technical content into something engaging and thought-provoking. He often used real-world examples and case studies to explain complex environmental concepts, making them more relatable and easier to understand. His enthusiasm for the subject was evident in every lecture, and it inspired me to think critically about the interconnectedness of human actions and the environment. As a non-native English speaker, I faced challenges, particularly when tackling the technical language of the course and completing the final project. Despite these difficulties, Professor Taylor showed immense patience and understanding. He went out of his way to explain difficult concepts, provide detailed feedback on my drafts, and offer encouragement when I needed it most. His unwavering support not only helped me overcome these obstacles but also gave me the confidence to tackle the subject with determination. The final project was particularly transformative, as it required me to apply the knowledge and skills I had gained throughout the course to a real-world scenario. Professor Taylor’s guidance and constructive feedback were invaluable, helping me refine my ideas and approach. Successfully completing the project felt like a significant accomplishment, and it deepened my appreciation for the field. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to learn from such an outstanding educator. Professor Taylor’s dedication, passion, and kindness have left a lasting impression on me, both academically and personally. His mentorship has inspired me to continue pursuing knowledge with curiosity and determination, and his influence will undoubtedly guide me in my future endeavors.(339字)

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) offers a lively and diverse academic environment. The campus is modern and spacious, with highlights such as the Walter Pyramid and beautiful green spaces. Located in Long Beach, the university is surrounded by a vibrant community known for its beaches, cultural diversity, and entertainment options. During my year at CSULB, I lived off-campus. While I didn’t cook, there were plenty of nearby restaurants, cafes, and food trucks offering a variety of cuisines, making dining both convenient and enjoyable. Grocery stores and convenience shops were also easily accessible. The city’s public transportation system was reliable, and ride-sharing services made getting around easy without owning a car. The climate in Long Beach was a major highlight—pleasantly warm and sunny most of the year. This allowed for outdoor activities like beach outings, biking, and exploring local attractions, including the Aquarium of the Pacific and the bustling downtown area. Living off-campus gave me a chance to experience more of the local culture and build independence. The convenience of nearby amenities and the welcoming community made the transition smooth. My time at CSULB not only broadened my academic and cultural horizons but also helped me form unforgettable memories and friendships.(204字)

When I first started living away from home, one of the biggest challenges I faced was adapting to daily life, particularly cooking for myself. Coming from a family where meals were always prepared for me, I had little to no experience in the kitchen. Moving to a new environment where I had to take care of my meals felt overwhelming. At first, I relied heavily on instant noodles, takeout, and pre-packaged meals. While convenient, this was neither healthy nor satisfying in the long run. To overcome this, I decided to take small steps toward learning how to cook. I started with simple dishes like scrambled eggs, sandwiches, and boiled pasta. Watching online cooking tutorials and asking friends for easy recipes proved to be incredibly helpful. Gradually, I became more confident in the kitchen and began experimenting with different ingredients. Preparing meals became not only a necessity but also an enjoyable activity that helped me feel more independent and self-sufficient. Another difficulty I encountered was the cultural adjustment. Moving to a new place meant adapting to different customs, social norms, and even language barriers. For example, I initially struggled with understanding local etiquette and sometimes felt out of place in conversations. However, I learned to approach these moments with curiosity rather than frustration. I asked questions, observed others, and kept an open mind. Slowly but surely, I began to appreciate the uniqueness of the culture and even made friends who helped me navigate these differences. Through these experiences, I’ve learned that challenges, whether in daily life or adapting to a new culture, are opportunities for growth. With persistence, a willingness to learn, and support from those around me, I was able to overcome these obstacles and emerge stronger and more capable.(291字)

Studying abroad in your junior year is an exciting and life-changing opportunity. Here are some tips to make the most of it: First, start planning early. Research the university and its programs to align your academic goals. Understand the course requirements and transfer credit policies to ensure your study abroad experience won’t delay your graduation. Living arrangements are another key aspect. Decide whether you want to stay on-campus or off-campus. On-campus housing offers convenience and opportunities to meet other students, while off-campus living provides more independence. If you choose to live off-campus, research nearby neighborhoods for safety and accessibility. Budgeting is essential. Understand the cost of living in your destination, including rent, food, transportation, and leisure activities. If you don’t cook, research affordable meal options, such as dining halls, local restaurants, or meal delivery services. Look for student discounts to save money. Adjusting to a new environment takes time, so be open-minded and embrace cultural differences. Participate in campus activities, join clubs, and make friends from diverse backgrounds. These connections will enrich your experience and help you feel less homesick. Lastly, manage your time wisely. Balance academics with exploring the local culture and traveling to nearby cities. Keep track of deadlines, and don’t hesitate to seek help from professors or the international student office if you face challenges. Your junior year abroad is a unique opportunity to grow academically, personally, and culturally. Embrace it fully and create memories that will last a lifetime!(246字)
