2023大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

For my junior studying abroad, I was studying at RMIT in Melbourne, Australia. RMIT is an innovative university located at the heart of Melbourne CBD. Although it doesn’t have a prestigious background, it is qualified as one of the best universities in Melbourne by local companies. As I mentioned, it is located at the heart of Melbourne CBD. It is convenient to reach supermarkets, student accommodations, tram, Metro train station, and department. Speaking back of what I was majoring in RMIT, I was enrolled in diploma of business. There were twelve lessons which I needed to take and pass to get the diploma. In the first semester, I got some basic lessons, such as, financial management, market development, conducting business documents, critical thinking in the workplace, accounting, and developing emotional intelligence. In the second semester, I studied some lessons which are much more interesting, such as, conducting a project for ICB, sustainable development, risks in workplace, communication with customers, social media development, and communication in the workplace. I got 4 lectures and 5 online tutorial classes a week for each semester. Although I didn’t have to go to school as much as I did in Taiwan, I needed to take my time effectively to preview, review, and conduct assessments after the school time. (213字)

Speaking of my favorite class and instructor, there are two classes and one teacher which is my favorite. First, I would like to introduce my favorite instructor and one of my favorite classes. I really liked the class which is called communication with customers. The teacher’s name is Dario. His class was always full of fun, enjoyment, and humanity. He encouraged us to have class discussion and presentation as much as possible. Dario would also throw some topics to us and ask us to brainstorm as a group. Then, we would need to share our ideas in front of the class. I took the chances of having a speech every now and then. Even though I made some grammatical errors or mentioned something wrong, he was all ears and gave me some feedback or compliments. The feeling of getting compliments from teacher Dario was so splendid that it helped me to build my confidence. Second of all, I really like the class which is called, “project product conducting”. This class is for teaching how you figure out and conduct a product for the bookkeeping industry. We need to consider different prospects in the projects. For example, financial statements, customer services, budget, potential risks…and so on. Me and my group members spent the whole semester on the project. It was tough and complicated, but I had a really great time with my classmates. After having the last class of second semester, we went to a bar and had some cold one (beer). It was so fantastic. I really appreciate all it. Thanks to them, I could have such a wonderful semester.(272字)

I was studying at RMIT University’s City Campus. It is right in the center of Melbourne, creating a lively spot for students. It boasts modern facilities and creative teaching styles. With a wide range of courses and a strong emphasis on design, technology, and business, it draws in students from all corners of the globe. The campus also has plenty of areas for studying, plus access to libraries and student support services. During my life of exchanging student, I was living in Scape Franklin. It is a favored choice for student housing, located just a short walk from RMIT’s City Campus. It features a variety of modern, fully furnished apartments and studios that prioritize student comfort and convenience. When I was living there, I could take advantage of amenities like shared study spaces, a gym, a rooftop terrace, and social areas for events and activities. The location is perfect, with easy access to the metro station and Woolworths or Aldi, making it an excellent living spot for international students. The area around RMIT City Campus is vibrant and full of life. It’s close to famous Melbourne attractions like the State Library of Victoria, Queen Victoria Market, and the Royal Exhibition Building. The neighborhood is filled with cafes, restaurants, and shops. Plus, Melbourne’s iconic laneways, known for their street art and unique boutiques, offer a one-of-a-kind cultural experience. I was able to have a city-walk for a day. Melbourne enjoys a temperate oceanic climate with four distinct seasons. Summers can get warm, often hitting 30°C or more. Winters can be brisk, with average temperatures around 6-14°C and some rain. The weather in Melbourne is vibrant, making it have a characteristic, which is four-season in a day. You can feel freeze in the early morning. After 11 o’clock, it would be warm. However, the rain would be pounding down in the afternoon. Then, it would become freezing again at night. I got a cold once a time because of it. I recommend that you should take good care of yourself.(343字)

(四)自我成長

The biggest difficulties which I encountered is language barrier. Even though I have learned English for fourteen years, I am not able to speak English fluently and naturally. I couldn’t even respond or have a small talk when local people said,” how’s it going?” or “how are you?” As a result, I can’t make friends with locals or people from oversea. I was so disappointed and depressed because of that. However, I knew the weakness which I had and tried to deal with it. I listened some English podcasts in the morning every day. I also watched lots of English shows, cartoon, and comedy shows to trigger my interest of learning English. At the meanwhile, I attended lots of events held by Scape Franklin, Meetup, and student connection in RMIT to speak English as much as possible and make some new friends. In addition, I tried to have some enjoyable talks with my badminton training partners. It was hard to connect the dots when I was trying to make some improvements of my English, but it was very clear looking backward three months later. The greatest change of my life of studying abroad was that I made some new friends with three local classmate, one classmate from Ethiopia. After stepping out of my comfort zone, I not only learn how to speak English fluently, but also have some friends from different background. In addition, it triggers my interest of learning English, especially English speaking.(247字)

(五)大三出國建議

To be honest, I don’t have any advice for freshmen, sophomores, or even juniors because the journey of studying abroad is a box of chocolates, and you can’t not taste them by the other’s mouth. You need to come over there and experience to create your own journal. Nevertheless, I would suggest that you prepare everything as much as possible. For example, the proficiency of English, the approvement of student VISA, money…and so on. Then, you just need to bring on your language and embark on the airplane flying to Melbourne, Australia. You just need to enjoy the interior vibe of airplane and look forward to landing on Australia. Moreover, please remember a quote,” I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” The reason why I am mentioning this is that Australia is too wide to travel around in a year. There are lots of breathtaking and picturesque landmarks over there. After finishing your assessments, good, move your bloody ass and discover something new in Melbourne. When you have summer vacation, good, book the bloody aircraft tickets and bring your bloody travel bags to explore the outside of Melbourne. I reckon that you won’t regret it afterward. Last but not least, if you are a coffee lover, you will definitely fall in love with Melbourne. Melbourne is famous for its coffee culture. There are so many local cafés at some suburbs in Melbourne, such as, Fitzroy, Richmond, Carlton…and so on. Don’t ever grab a cup of coffee from Starbucks and try to order a cup of flat white which is the top one for Aussie.(275字)
